The S&W M627 is a model that bridges the gap between the aging revolver platform and the modern tactical R8, Just like the R8 the M627 utilizes the S&W's N Frame which is normally reserved for higher caliber rounds such as the.44 Magnum rounds, the M627 takes 8 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special, but it is not as tactical as the R8 which has Picatinny rails, allowing it to fit traditional holsters that don't support accessories.
